Sunken - OST Composing Jam 7

This is my submission to the 7th OST composing jam hosted by Lone Rabbit. This submission was primarily based off of the visual prompt for the jam, so I aimed for watery-esque music.

For this jam I have composed 2 songs; Tidal Drift, and Siren's Garden. I would have liked to make more than only 2 songs, however this jam fell on a week when I was quite busy. Regardless, I still wanted to participate, so that's that.

Tidal Drift:

This song was meant to be a sort of area theme type of song. I used a lot of bubble sounds to imitate the feeling of water, and went for an almost whale call type thing for the lead. This song also includes quite a lot of reverb/delay, which is meant to depict the vastness of the ocean.

Siren's Garden

As the name suggests, this is meant to be a theme for a garden cultivated by a siren (the mythical creature). For this song, I used several arpeggiated synths to imitate the rising of bubbles, as well as a few samples of my own voice as the "siren's call". Some of the instrumentation for this song was actually inspired by "Uwa!! So Temperate♫" from the Undertale soundtrack.

For both of these songs, I wanted to have some sort of means of having them be connected, but I didn't feel like going with leitmotifs, so instead I gave the songs very similar chord progressions. Both progressions revolve around starting with a major 7th chord, then playing that same major 7th chord a semitone down, creating an almost tide-like back and forth that I think really sells the ocean vibe.
